Our apps are used every day by riders in Boston, New York, Los Angeles, Athens, London and other major cities around the world.
In some cases, hardware ticket readers make up part our deployments, either standalone or integrated with existing validation systems. This is a growing area of our business which encompasses both mobile apps and embedded hardware solutions.
We are looking for a junior to mid level Hardware Engineer to join our Validation team and help them deliver great hardware solutions for our customers, changing the way people use public transport in those cities and adding to the Smart City Revolution.
What will our Hardware Engineer do?
- You will provide hands-on engineering to help analyze, design and build hardware solutions for our JustRide platform, ensuring adherence to requirements, industry and regulatory compliance, as well as good architectural characteristics such as scalability, recoverability, and performance.
- You will engage subject matter experts to collect and analyze requirements, validate those requirements, assess risks and plan work.
- You will engage directly with high profile, high value customers and their maintenance teams to establish how best to integrate our hardware solutions within existing, often legacy transit hardware.
- You will also be working closely with our own internal development teams, key partners and consultants to provide insight into the design, production, testing and deployment of technologies destined for projects covering many major cities around the world.
- You will have the opportunity to travel globally.
Required skills and experience
- Any recognised technical qualification in Electrical/Electronics/Electro mechanical engineering or relevant work experience.
- Good understanding of analog and digital board level circuit design.
- Excellent working knowledge of schematic and PCB tools (Altium, Allegro, PCB Expedition).
- Experience with electronic circuit design and analysis.
- Computer literate.
- Organizational skills.
- Ability to travel as necessary.
Highly desired skills and experience
- BS Electrical Engineering (MS Electrical Engineering preferred).
- Experience with AutoCAD.
- Experience with transit hardware.
- Understanding of embedded system level design, such as memory and processor interfaces/buses etc.
- Working knowledge of embedded software.
