mobile application test analyst

This role is ideal for a methodical tester with a few years experience to work within our agile team alongside other testers. Key responsibilities include:

  • Testing of new features and functionality developed for the product
  • Working closely with the developers and learning how the product works, including checking logs to be able to fully test the functionality
  • Server testing
  • Perform periodic standard tests on a list of handsets, and making sure applications run smoothly (including manual regression testing)
  • Perform story/iteration testing, and independently deduce edge cases and different testing scenarios
  • Liaise with developers regarding issues
  • Perform investigation and analysis to help define the extent of issues.

required qualities

  • Attention to detail
  • Enthusiastic about testing and being part of making a great product
  • Interested especially in logic and functional testing for this technical role
  • Ability to go beyond the basic requirements of a paper spec
  • Very clear communication of issues and bugs, with appropriate context, to developers.

desirable qualities

  • Great interest in testing of Mobile Applications, in particular the logic and functional aspects
  • Familiar with UTC Standards
  • Familiarity with agile development methodology
  • Experience in automated testing
  • Understanding of the different mobile OSs would be good, such as Symbian, Android, RIM etc
  • Prior experience in mobile testing would also be an advantage.
