The new, multilingual TrawsCymru app and website will support the Welsh Government’s intent of achieving a bus system that boosts social equity and is capable of delivering the scale of modal shift needed to combat the climate emergency. TrawsCymru will launch on Passenger\u2019s customer experience platform and utilise its journey planning<\/a>, bus timetables and live vehicle tracking capabilities. Mobile app ticketing, complemented by ticket eCommerce on the website, will also help to provide a step-change in digital access to the TrawsCymru services.<\/p>\n

TrawsCymru is an integral part of the bus network in Wales, providing links between major towns and cities and helping people connect to work, education, health and leisure destinations. Over the next few years, Transport for Wales will be introducing improvements to the network, low carbon vehicles, integration of Traws and rail ticketing and improving roadside infrastructure and information for passengers.<\/p>\n

Tom Quay, CEO at Passenger commented: \u201cWe\u2019re delighted to begin work with Transport for Wales at such an exciting time for the organisation. The Welsh government has highlighted the gradual decline in the bus industry in Wales over the years through its recent whitepaper \u2018One network, one timetable, one ticket\u2019. The whitepaper states that 25% of people in Wales do not have access to a car, and although the Welsh government has invested more than \u00a3100m each year in bus services, improvements have been challenging due to the legacy of bus service privatisation.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s encouraging to see considerable efforts being made by the government to reverse this decline, with investment being channelled into public services to help more people get to where they need to go. Transport for Wales is driving this change, and we are delighted to support them with our expertise and technology, designed to make buses a more appealing and accessible mode of travel. Together, we believe we can make a significant difference in the way in which people travel throughout Wales.\u201d<\/p>\n

James Price, Chief Executive at Transport for Wales added: \u201cOur new app and website for TrawsCymru represent a significant milestone in our plans to overhaul public transport in Wales, as we look to create a network which appeals to a much wider demographic.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur purpose is to progress the Welsh government\u2019s vision of a stable, easy-to-use network of bus services that fully connects to other methods of public transport. We want to provide a reliable, affordable, flexible and low-carbon transport network that supports more people to use the bus instead of their cars \u2013 and our new TrawsCymru app and website will complement our ongoing efforts\u201d.<\/p>\n

Mae\u2019r darparwr technoleg trafnidiaeth gyhoeddus yn y DU, Passenger, wedi cyhoeddi partneriaeth newydd fawr gyda Trafnidiaeth Cymru wrth iddo baratoi i gyhoeddi ap a gwefan bysiau newydd ar gyfer ei rwydwaith bysiau pellter hir TrawsCymru.<\/p>\n

Bydd ap a gwefan newydd, amlieithog TrawsCymru yn cefnogi bwriad Llywodraeth Cymru i sicrhau system bysiau sy\u2019n hybu cydraddoldeb cymdeithasol ac sy\u2019n gallu cyflawni\u2019r newid moddol sydd ei angen i fynd i\u2019r afael \u00e2\u2019r argyfwng hinsawdd. Bydd TrawsCymru yn lansio ar blatfform profiad cwsmeriaid Passenger ac yn defnyddio ei gyfleusterau cynllunio teithiau, amserlenni bysiau a\u2019i allu i olrhain cerbydau\u2019n fyw. Bydd tocynnau ar yr ap ac eFasnach tocynnau ar y wefan, hefyd yn helpu i sicrhau newid sylweddol o ran mynediad digidol at wasanaethau TrawsCymru.<\/p>\n

Mae TrawsCymru yn rhan annatod o\u2019r rhwydwaith bysiau yng Nghymru, gan ddarparu cysylltiadau rhwng prif drefi a dinasoedd a helpu pobl i gysylltu \u00e2 lleoliadau gwaith, addysg, iechyd a hamdden. Dywedodd Tom Quay, Prif Swyddog Gweithredol Passenger: \u201cRydyn ni\u2019n falch iawn o ddechrau gweithio gyda Trafnidiaeth Cymru mewn cyfnod mor gyffrous i\u2019r sefydliad. Mae Llywodraeth Cymru wedi tynnu sylw at y dirywiad graddol yn y diwydiant bysiau yng Nghymru dros y blynyddoedd drwy ei phapur gwyn diweddar \u2018Un rhwydwaith, un amserlen, un tocyn\u2019. Mae\u2019r papur gwyn yn nodi nad oes gan 25% o bobl yng Nghymru gar at eu defnydd, ac er bod Llywodraeth Cymru wedi buddsoddi dros \u00a3100m bob blwyddyn mewn gwasanaethau bysiau, mae gwelliannau wedi bod yn heriol oherwydd bod gwasanaethau bysiau wedi cael eu preifateiddio.<\/p>\n

\u201cMae\u2019n galonogol gweld ymdrechion sylweddol yn cael eu gwneud gan y llywodraeth i wrthdroi\u2019r dirywiad hwn, gyda buddsoddiad yn cael ei sianelu i wasanaethau cyhoeddus i helpu mwy o bobl i gyrraedd lle mae angen iddyn nhw fynd.
