London, UK, 24th January 2007 – Masabi, the secure mobile applications company, today announced that it has completed the design and development for Playtech (AIM: PTECH), the world’s largest publicly traded online gaming software supplier, of a range of mobile phone casino applications. Masabi’s secure mobile development experience, combined with its skills in developing on low-end phones, has allowed Playtech to effectively replicate its online gaming experience on mass-market handsets. The mobile product is now live, with the first mobile Slots, Black Jack, Roulette, Baccarat and Video Poker applications already being rolled out to Playtech licensees.

“As Java mobile phones have become prevalent we now have a brand new channel for our casino applications,” said Avigur Zmora, CEO of Playtech. “We evaluated a number of partners before selecting Masabi – their ability to build secure, highly usable and graphically rich applications on even the most constrained mobile devices will enable our licensees to effectively extend their offerings into the mobile space.”

“The Playtech name has always been synonymous with innovation and best-of-breed technology in the gaming industry,” said Tom Godber, CTO and founder of Masabi. “We are delighted to be working with them at the cutting edge of mobile technology, creating one of the most advanced secure, transactional mobile applications yet seen.”

Masabi has been working on innovative mobile applications since its formation in 2002. The company has built a range of advanced phone software including Pick the Prez and the Iraq War Calculator. It has also provided development and design consultancy on a range of projects including mobile banking and sports betting applications.

about Masabi

Masabi designs and builds secure applications for mobile phones. The company is the leading developer of transactional software for the constrained environments of today’s mass market mobile handsets. It also has world leading experts in the fields of mobile usability, networking and security. Founded in late 2001, Masabi began by launching a range of mobile phone games before moving into the mobile application sector with its ground breaking viral distribution and web interaction technology – as seen in the applications Pick the Prez and the Iraq War Cost Calculator. The company has a number of high profile clients from across a range of industry sectors, publicly announced examples of which include: Playtech, the Tote, the Liberal Democrats and Vodafone WildLive!. Based in London, Masabi is wholly self-owned and self-funded.

About Playtech

Playtech develops unified software platforms for the online gambling industry, primarily targeting existing online operators wanting to upgrade their system; sportsbooks looking to diversify and land-based operators making their online debut. Playtech gaming applications — online casino, poker, bingo, live gaming, land-based kiosk networks and fixed-odds games — are fully intercompatible and can be freely incorporated as stand-alone applications, accessed and funded by players through the same user account and managed by the operator by means of a single powerful management interface. Founded in 1999, Playtech has over 350 personnel distributed globally, around eighty percent of whom are engaged in research and development of current and future gaming technologies.
