The pilot allows passengers to simply tap their contactless bank card when boarding the bus.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The system is being piloted as a first step in bringing safe contactless payments to passengers in Bilbao, attracting locals and visitors back to public transport by allowing them to simply tap and ride on Bilbobus\u2019 services. It gives passengers the freedom to use their contactless bank card to pay for single bus trips, with each tap costing passengers \u20ac1.35, the price of a one way ticket<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Bilbobus launches new contactless ticketing solution using bank cards (cEMV)\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/516182789?h=f9b9b308dc&amp;dnt=1&amp;app_id=122963\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen; picture-in-picture; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>During the pilot, onboard validation of contactless bank card taps will be provided by Masabi\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/localhost:10003\/justride-validator-jrv\/\">Justride Validator (JRV<\/a>) units. Designed from the ground up by Masabi, the JRVs possess the necessary capabilities to meet the demands of account-based ticketing, even in large cities, all at a price point that for the first time makes next-generation ticketing accessible to transport authorities and operators in towns and cities around the globe.
