To reflect this the SmartRail Innovation Awards launched a search for the best app currently on offer to transit passengers in Europe.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A panel of transit professionals assessed each of the shortlisted entries. The panel was made up of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ian Wright, Head of Insight, Transport Focus<\/li>\n<li>Armand Toubol, Vice President, New Opera<\/li>\n<li>Dr. Raphael Pfaff, Chair of Rail Engineering, FH Aachen University of Applied Sciences<\/li>\n<li>Rafael Cuesta, Head of Innovation, Transport for Greater Manchester<\/li>\n<li>Nina Gaubert, Rail Digital Services, Telecoms, Tech &amp; Data, Department for Transport UK<\/li>\n<li>Oliver Drewes, Director European Union Liaison Office, Nederlandse Spoorwegen NS (Dutch Railways)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.masabi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/hubspot-c8b4cccae1a15e013c42-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"Luke Upton (SmartRail World) and James Gooch (Masabi) (1)-1.jpg\" width=\"806\" height=\"537\"><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>James Gooch, Head of Marketing at Masabi<\/strong> commented on the award win \u201c<em>We are absolutely thrilled and honoured to be awarded by such an esteemed panel of judges, at one of the transport industry&#8217;s most prestigious awards.
