PARTNER - UBER

Transit and ride-hailing in one app.

Justride's integration with Uber Transit lets riders discover and buy public transport tickets inside the Uber app, making transit part of the same trip planning experience as private mobility.

How the integration works

  1. Plan a journey in Uber

The rider enters a destination and sees transit routes alongside ride-hail options in the same planner.

  2. See the right ticket.

Justride surfaces the correct product for that journey - single, day pass or multi-ride - with live pricing.

  3. Purchase without leaving Uber

The rider pays with their existing Uber payment method. No account creation, no separate app.

  4. Board with the barcode.

The valid Justride barcode displays in Uber; the rider shows it or taps through a validator.

Benefits for agencies

  • New rider acquisition

Reaches people who use Uber but have never downloaded a transit app.

  • Configuration, not a project.

Agencies already on Justride are enabled through configuration alone - no hardware, software or integration work.

  • Built for first and last mile.

Naturally suited to trips combining bus or rail with a ride-hail leg, opening journey patterns agencies can't serve alone.

  • Fares are never out of date.

Justride surfaces live products for each agency, so riders always see the correct ticket and price for their route.

Technical overview

The Uber Transit integration is powered by the Justride Distribution SDK — the same technology used by Transit App, Citymapper, and other journey planning partners. Uber connects to Justride’s inventory and payment APIs; ticketing logic, barcode generation, and back-office accounting all run on the agency’s existing Justride platform. Agencies do not need to integrate directly with Uber.
