Indianapolis Public Transportation Corporation Launches MyKey+, the Next Generation of its Account-Based Ticketing System, Powered by Masabi’s Justride

Upgrade to MyKey+ system makes rides across Indianapolis quick, simple for riders

Indianapolis, IN and New York, NY – JUNE 2, 2026 — Indianapolis Public Transportation Corporation, DBA IndyGo, announced today the launch of MyKey+, available to riders from July 1,  the next evolution of IndyGo’s existing account-based fare payment system, developed in partnership with Masabi, the global leader in enterprise-grade SaaS fare collection for public transit.

Building on the foundation of IndyGo’s current MyKey program, MyKey+ introduces an upgraded rider experience through a new branded mobile app and smart card, expanded regional fare interoperability, automatic fare capping and additional retail cash-loading options throughout Indianapolis.

MyKey+ is part of EZFare, a regional fare collection system that enables riders to purchase tickets and passes across multiple transit agencies spanning Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Michigan, West Virginia and Pennsylvania, making it one of the most expansive regional transit fare networks in the United States.

The upgraded system enhances flexibility and convenience for all riders by ensuring customers receive the best available fare regardless of payment method. Riders paying with cash can now load funds onto their MyKey+ account at participating retail locations and access the same fare protections and savings available to digital users. Customers will also continue to have access to secure online account management tools, including balance management, transaction history, and trip tracking.

To further improve boarding efficiency and customer experience, IndyGo’s fleet has also been equipped with upgraded fare validators, including additional validators on the agency’s 60-foot electric buses to support faster all-door boarding.

“The launch of MyKey+ builds upon the success of IndyGo’s existing fare system while introducing new tools that make paying for transit easier, more flexible, and more equitable for our riders,” said Jennifer Pyrz, President and CEO of IndyGo. “Importantly, these upgrades maintain access for cash-paying customers while expanding the convenience and consistency of the rider experience across our network.”

“EZFare continues to go from strength-to-strength, providing a world-leading example of the power of a regional fare collection system. It continues to grow both in terms of geography but also consistently delivering cutting edge technology innovations,” said Brian Zanghi, CEO of Masabi. “This announcement from IndyGo is a perfect illustration of the power of Justride SaaS platform and how it is able to consistently develop and evolve making journeys seamless for riders across Indianapolis.”
