Masabi and Japanese Partner Jorudan Launch Mobile Ticketing in Toyota City
Daily bus passes now available in Jorudan’s trip planning app in both English and Japanese
London, UK and Tokyo, Japan 18th September 2019 – Masabi, the company bringing Fare Payments as-a-Service to public transit and Jorudan, Japan’s leading trip planning service, today announced that they have launched mobile ticketing in Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture, focused on helping locals and visiting fans get around the city during one of the world’s biggest sports competitions kicking-off in Japan later this week. Passengers are today able to purchase day passes for bus travel via the Japan Transit Planner-Norikae Annai app, in both English and Japanese.
This is the latest Japanese launch following on from the partnership signed between Jorudan and Masabi earlier this year. Jorudan has integrated the Justride mobile ticketing SDK into its market-leading transit apps, meaning once an operator signs up to the service, tickets can be made available in the application.
“Since signing our partnership with Jorudan we have seen significant progress in the Japanese market,” said Brian Zanghi, CEO of Masabi. “We are delighted to be launching this high profile service to help fans from around the world easily travel around Toyota City during one of the world’s biggest sporting tournaments.”
We want to make it easy, convenient and intuitive for visiting fans to be able to move around Toyota City throughout the tournament,” said Toshikazu Sato, CEO of Jorudan. “As part of this, we’re enabling people to not only plan their journey, but also buy their transport ticket and even buy a voucher for a meal. The barcode provides a simple and visual way for both bus drivers and restaurants to quickly validate tickets. We’re delighted with the early success and adoption we’ve seen since launching with Masabi – this latest extension puts mobile ticketing firmly in the global spotlight as all eyes turn to Japan for the upcoming competition.”
Jorudan’s Japan Transit Planner-Norikae Annai journey planning app is available to download from Google Play and the App Store.
